Summer days in Western Sydney regularly run several degrees hotter than the coast. Dark exterior colours absorb that heat and can shorten the life of the paint and the timber under it, so we talk about colour and product choice with that in mind. We also time exterior work to avoid painting in direct afternoon sun, when the paint dries too fast to finish properly.
