Homes near Cronulla and Woolooware take salt and wind every day, so exteriors are washed down before preparation, and coastal-grade products go on. Further inland, blocks backing onto bushland pick up damp, moss and leaf litter in the gutters and on the shaded walls. Both need the surface clean and sound before any paint goes on.
