Painters Hawkesbury & Blue Mountains
Timber cottages, river towns and mountain weather. Out here we plan around the cold, the damp and the distance, and the standard is the same as everywhere else in Sydney.

cold and damp
Upper Mountains winters are cold, and most exterior paints should not go on when it is below about ten degrees. We schedule exterior work for the warmer part of the year and the warmer part of the day. Mist and shade keep walls damp, so mould and mildew are common inside and out; we treat and dry the surface before coating, never paint over it.
Older weatherboard and fibro cottages are common in both areas. Homes painted before 1970 may have lead in older layers, which is checked before any sanding.
bushfire and flood country
Much of the Mountains and parts of the Hawkesbury are bushfire-prone land, and some river flats flood. If your home has a bushfire attack level rating, or is being repaired after a flood, tell us at the site walk so the quote accounts for it. The distance does not change how we work: the same site walk, the same written quote and the same five-year guarantee.
